Presenting the De’Longhi Videos Promoting the New Dinamica and Specialista Expresso Machines
We are happy to share the edited videos for De’Longhi’s new Dinamica and Specialista expresso machines that were recently shot and produced here at Cooktop Studio, the premiere kitchen studio rental in Sunset Park Brooklyn, right outside of New York City. Last month we posted a picture gallery and background information on the shoot, but seeing the finished videos really highlights our kitchen studio’s cool contemporary environment that was an instant draw for De’Longhi.
DINAMICA EXPRESSO MACHINE VIDEO
The first video we shot for this campaign at our kitchen photo studio NYC, was for the Dinamica expresso machine which was shot in our blue-grey oak modern kitchen. With a cast of two and a little green finger paint, they were able to create their story.
SPECIALISTA EXPRESSO MACHINE VIDEO
The video for De’Longhi’s Specialista expresso machine needed a different approach which
required building a second kitchen set in the photo and video studio to tell a different story. Man, machine, and dog tell the story in a humorous way.
We are appreciative that De’Longhi chose Cooktop Studio to film their new videos and look forward to seeing them here again in the studio!

De’Longhi’s Espresso Machines Featured at Cooktop Studios’ Gourmet Kitchen Studio
Last week Cooktop Studio’s gourmet kitchen studio rental located in Brooklyn, New York, was chosen to be the location for a video production of a couple of new and improved De’Longhi brand espresso machines.
De’Longhi really loved Cooktop’s studio kitchen and wanted their machines in the cool contemporary environment that it portrays. To our surprise they also wanted to have a second kitchen option for the second machine that they were promoting. Because of the size of the studio they decided to call 4×8 Workshop, a set builder, and place the second kitchen at the other end of the studio!
This was the biggest production that we have had so far at Cooktop Studio. The house was full of ARRI SkyPanels, Gemini 2x1s, and even a couple of ARRI 4k HMIs.
Below are some behind the scenes photos of the kitchen build and video shoot!

Cooktop’s Kitchen Studio Serves as Backdrop for Entrepreneur Denise Woodard in Pharrell Williams “Entrepreneur” Video
Cooktop’s Kitchen Studio, located on the waterfront in Sunset Park just minutes from New York City, was recently featured in Pharrell Williams’ official video for “Entrepreneur” featuring Jay-Z. Directed by Charles Kidd, otherwise known as Calmatic, the “Entrepreneur” music video showcases a series of Black entrepreneurs including actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae and Marathon Clothing founder Nipsey Hussle.
In an interview with Time magazine, Williams said: “The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with. Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”
Our 3,600-square-foot studio kitchen rental space served as the backdrop for Denise Woodard, founder of Partake Foods, a maker of Gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO and allergen free cookies. Denise’s story and rising success is especially notable as she was rejected by 86 investors until the company secured funding from established investors like Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners. While Partake Foods’ sales have started to take off – her cookies can be found at Target and some 3,000 stores nationwide – that success did not come without challenges.
Reflecting on her company’s journey, Woodard said: “It always feels like we’re just scraping by, like you’re almost at the end of the rope and thankfully the rope gets a bit longer. I think that we were able to raise the money though because I felt like the partners we brought on saw the need for our product. They liked our product in terms of taste and nutritional value, and really believed in me and the story of Partake.

Cooktop’s Kitchen Studio and the segment on Denise Woodard appears around the 3-minute mark.
Cooktop was honored to be part of the “Entrepreneur” music video featuring Black entrepreneurs like Denise and we wish her and Partake Foods continued success.
Mastershot Films at Cook Top Studio
Mastershot Films, a video lighting service that provides productions with trained specialists and lighting equipment for interviews, testimonials, and branded marketing commercials, recently used the Cook Top Studio in Brooklyn, NY for two shoots.
Mastershot was thrilled with their experience and loved our studio space:
I had the pleasure of doing 2 shoots here recently and this studio is a true GEM! Plenty of space to accomodate all of our gear and big enough to accomodate the cast & crew comfortably. Now with this whole social-distancing policy being a new normal, your crew & clients will appreciate how spacious this NYC Commercial Kitchen Rental studio is unlike tight & cramped Manhattan/Bushwick studios are.
Below is a BTS video we shot with our gear in the space along with the finished product of the video for Guinness. It’ll give you a sense of what can be accomplished here. After having shot there, I’ll go out of my way to suggest this studio to some of my clients as it’s so easy to work out of.
Lastly, the studio owner/manager was EXTREMELY accommodating and made the whole process a breeze.

Our First Official Booking for CooktopStudio
That’s a wrap!, shouted the director from the set on the third day of shooting at Cooktop’s kitchen studio rental in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York. Three days of shooting Holiday recipes using Guinness Extra Stout in each dish was to provide video content for Vox Media’s Eater website.
A few weeks before the official opening of CooktopStudio in New York I received an email inquiry as to the availability of the studio for a video shoot using our just finished shooting and prep kitchens. The director, Daniel Klein, who shoots the critically acclaimed web documentary series Perennial Plate (www.perennialplate.com), which is dedicated to socially responsible and adventurous eating, was in search of a location to use for these upcoming Guinness videos. As our website at that time www.cooktopstudio.com was under construction I sent photographs of the kitchens and shooting spaces from all different angles. He loved the space and wanted to send a location scout the next day to check it out and take some images to send to his client. Dylan the scout showed up the next day and did a walk-through taking pictures and asking a lot of questions about the space and the building. Can we park our truck downstairs? Yes, Is there a freight elevator? Yes, how high are the ceilings? 14ft, how much power in the space etc. The next day Daniel emailed asking to hold the space for now and would confirm the dates once his talent was booked and confirmed. The call from Daniel came in a couple of days later and we were a go! Our first official booking for CooktopStudio, how exciting!
NEW YORK KITCHEN SHOOT
We created CooktopStudio to focus on all food industry related projects. A kitchen studio rental where photographers, filmmakers, food stylists and clients could gather and create, with everything they might need for the project at their disposal.
Daniel’s crew showed up at 8:00am the first morning and started setting up cameras and lights in preparation for the shoot. Hair and makeup came later, then the talent, by one o’clock they were ready to begin shooting. I watched with an eagle eye as the day unfolded in front of me and all was going well! The three days went by without a hitch and everyone was quite pleased with the results.
CooktopStudio had its first client under its belt!
Below are some bts photos of the shoot and the final product.
